		<description>Mariah, I am so proud of you.  Bucking the advice to CIO can be hard, I know from experience.  But I was convinced by the research on what produces trusting, independent toddlers and older children (not to mention grown-ups) that until the baby can tell you in words what she needs, you just have to respond to her cries, and when you can&#039;t figure out what she really needs, at least she gains the confidence that you care and that she is heard.  You and John are doing a wonderful job as parents.  I hate it that so many child-hating churches have influenced your generation so strongly to do things that are so hurtful to their children.
